Thermal break technology is an important feature within an aluminium door as it helps regulate the temperature within your home, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. Combined with triple or double glazing, aluminium doors can achieve an A rating for thermal efficiency. Thermal breaks work on the same principle as a gas-filled double or triple glazed unit by introducing a low conductive material to prevent conductive thermal energy loss from either the inside to the outside or vice versa. 

As well as ensuring your home is well insulated, thermal breaks strengthen the frames and reduce the likelihood of condensation. Without the thermal break, aluminium frames would produce condensation, due to the fact that the surface of aluminium is much colder than the humid air inside your home, so air borne moisture would hit its dew point when it reaches the aluminium frame and condense into water droplets.
